A Simple Decision

DESCRIPTION
- There was a reason.
She, a good woman, married an even better man, breaking the stereotype that good women meet bad men. This was due to a simple but resolute decision she made.
In high school, she overheard a teacher confessing her hardships to the school nurse. This teacher’s husband was unemployed, lazy, and violent, often beating her without reason. Upon hearing this story, the woman made up her mind to marry a kind man, which she did, and she never once regretted her decision.
Her marriage was peaceful and without arguments, lasting thirty years, all because of that simple decision made in her youth. I painted this piece while thinking of her.
